This Sunday thousands of runners will take to the streets of Reigate in the Adidas half Marathon.
The 13.1 mile route will be tackled by amateurs and hardcore athletes alike. A large portion of the 3500 runners who have signed up are first timers and it’s having a positive effect on the town’s fitness levels!
The race will start and finish in the iconic Priory Park and is organised by Run Reigate, a community focussed not-for-profit organisation. They have teamed up with Reigate and Banstead Council to bring a huge Fitness and Food Festival to the town on the day. The festival will take place in the park allowing friends, families and other cheering squads to stay amused while the race is on. Race Organisers are expecting a 10,000+ turnout for the day.
A whole host of Sports Clubs will be attending and offering interactive family friendly events such as mini rugby, squash, and a British Military Fitness Assault course for the bravest attendees. As well as the action there is a food village, and really not to be missed is a barbeque from local celebrity chef Tony Tobin. The Adidas sponsored event is the biggest of its kind hosted by Reigate to date.
The race will take place on Sunday the 21st September 2014.
