aeroplaneThere is an aerodrome in Redhill, literally just round the corner. It’s ace, not that I can fly, though I’m seriously considering it. In the aerodrome, close enough to watch the planes come in and out is the newly opened ‘Pilot’s Hub’ café.

Yummy, scrummy food. We were there at brunch time and went for gammon eggs and chips, at very reasonable prices. Now with halfterm coming up we reckon this place will be a real winner with families.

cake at the airfield

You can sit and eat cake (we had a selection my favourite was the ginger cake though the courgette one definitely won out on uniqueness) drink coffee and the kids will be entertained watching a whole variety of planes come in and out.

You have to visit! Put it on the school hols list eh 🙂

  1. Hi Josie, sorry you couldn’t find us. There’s a map on our website (www.pilotshub.co.uk) and we’re also getting some more signage made which we hope will be installed tomorrow.

When you enter the airfield through the main entrance, park up in the car park immediately on your left. From that car park you’ll see a passageway leading down between two hangars (the hangar on the right is a bright turquoise colour). At the end of the passageway go through the gate in the metal railings and turn right. The Pilot’s Hub is at the end of the hangar on your right

Thanks for trying to find us and we look forward to seeing you soon!

  2. Signage is now up (look out for the black and white Pilot’s Hub signs as soon as you enter the airfield). Parking is on the left as you enter, but if it’s full there on weekends Bristow have kindly allowed us the use of their car park which is clearly signed. We can use the first single row and the first double row for overflow parking, but only on weekends!

More parking will be provided by the airfield entrance soon but in the meantime there are generally ample spaces and there’s even more overflow parking at the top of the hill towards the other cafe… Talking of the other cafe, which has been on the airfield for quite a while and serves good honest food, they are at the top of the hill whereas we’re right down at the bottom in amongst the big row of hangars. But if you can’t find us just call me on 07947 370057 !
